The Piece Hall is proud to host the depart for Stage 4 of Tour de Yorkshire 2018.

The final decisive stage, the Yorkshire Terrier, will begin at The Piece Hall, then continue through Halifax town centre before ending outside Leeds Town Hall.

Tour de Yorkshire is one of the biggest cycling races in the UK and a huge event in the international cycling calendar.

The gates will open at 9am and sporting greats from the cycling world will enter the main Courtyard to sign on at the podium used for the Tour de France. This is your chance to meet your heroes and see the bikes up close before the race departs. The riders will set off through the South Gate at 12.10pm but there’s no need to leave once the race has departed as you can watch it continue on our big screen.

Throughout the day there will be courtyard activity and entertainment including a pop up from the Yorkshire Bank Bike Library and family workshops, plus in the afternoon see six-piece Halifax based band Jump, Jive and Wail who will be bringing their brand of 1940s and 50s swing jive music; a one-man kaleidoscope of circus, foolish theatre, music and comedy courtesy of Circus Fudge as well as ukulele player Gary “Gacko” Bridgens.

Food and beverages will be available all day. As well as The Piece Hall’s regular offers, food can be bought from pop-up stalls provided by food favourites Toast of Harrogate and The Fish Finger Bar.  Alongside this you can visit our independent shops which will be open as normal.
