A day packed with free activities to mark the reopening of The Piece Hall

YORKSHIRE DAY FAMILY ACTIVITIES 

 

Launch into action with a special heritage challenge that will take you on a journey of discovery around Britain's last surviving cloth hall, meet the characters of Mr and Mrs Caygill who played a vital role in the building of The Piece Hall in 1779 and try your hand at weaving on the giant loom.


Other activities will encourage you to tap into your creative side with hand-printed plaques and the debut of our brand new activity cart and family trail. 

 

Piece Hall Footprints, 12pm - 4pm

Paint and print your footprint to celebrate being one of the first people to enter the new Piece Hall.

 

Family Trail, All Day (£1 from the Welcome Centre)

Let Woolley the Sheep take you on a journey of discovery as you find the hidden features of The Piece Hall with this fun interactive trail - dont forget to collect your stamp at the end!

 

Heritage Challenge, All Day

Explore our new heritage spaces with a special re-opening day Heritage Challenge. 

 

Meet the Caygills, 10.30pm - 3pm

Step back in time with Mr and Mrs Caygill, who played a vital role in the building of The Piece Hall back in 1779. 

 

Giant Weave, 12pm - 6pm

Help us make a piece of cloth by weaving a line or two on our giant loom. 

 

Hand-printed Plaques, 12pm - 4pm

Create your very own Piece Hall hand-printed plaque to take home as a keep-sake of the 2017 reopening.
