The Piece Hall Trust Annual Review 2020-21

Our Annual Review 2020-21, covers the period when the pandemic threatened not only livelihoods but a way of life.

As the nation emerged from the various lockdowns, we recognised that our role was to create conditions that meant that people could gather, once again, in a safe space to reconnect with family and friends. We stepped up during lockdown to support the community through cooking up over 20,000 meals for frontline staff, lighting up the building for charities, Sir Captain Tom and VE Day, and offering free meals to school children who needed our help and offered when possible, Covid drop in vaccination centres. We sustained our tenant community with rent holidays and offering a click and collect service to help them reach their customers.

We ensured throughout 2020-21 that we offered a variety of events and shows, including getting away our successful Live at The Piece Hall series of music events, all of which made a significant impact on both economic and social wellbeing.
