Following careful planning, The Piece Hall is excited to bring some festive cheer to Halifax this Christmas, with a safety designed programme of events and activities to celebrate the winter season.
From Saturday 14 November to Friday 31 December 2020, The Piece Hall will host an extensive seasonal programme of Christmas Fairs, comedy nights, dinner and cabaret packages, and our first-ever Father Christmas Experience.
The festivities will take place against the stunning architectural backdrop, the brightly decorated Christmas tree, live music from the bandstand and the return of the grand traditional carousel, with The Piece Hall’s vast range of diverse independent traders offering the best of seasonal food and drink, as well as the opportunity to pick up gifts in many of the independent retailers.

Christmas Fair - 21, 22 November 2020

Coinciding with Halifax’s annual Christmas Light Switch-On, will see our open-air courtyard host an additional Christmas Fair weekend. On offer will be a carefully curated selection of local independent craft stalls, artisan makers and food and drink suppliers, as well as a range of family workshops and entertainment to kickstart the Christmas cheer.

Christmas Fair - 27, 28, 29 November 2020
10am - 6pm, Courtyard

The ever-popular principle Christmas Fair will return to The Piece Hall courtyard for a second weekend, bringing together the best of local artists, makers, traders and suppliers, all from within 15 miles of Halifax, across forty unique stalls. On offer will be everything from cheese and sweets to prints and jewellery, beside an array of warming food and tasty tipples.

Father Christmas Comes to The Piece Hall - 5, 6, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 December 2020

The Piece Hall is delighted to announce the inaugural Father Christmas Comes to The Piece Hall, a specially created Christmas experience in partnership with Sneaky Experience. Join us for this never seen before show as you are welcomed on a magical journey of storytelling and festive imagination. Follow The Tellers who will lead you on an enchanting interactive tour around the spectacular site to meet Father Christmas himself.
*The Tellers are a funny sort of folk. They’ve lived under the arches of The Piece Hall for generations – collecting and telling stories of the townsfolk that come and go. They fumble and bumble and ring tiny little bells to let you know that a tale is being told.
This Christmas, the Tellers are on a mission to bring the magic of storytelling back to Christmas with the help of their very jolly friend - and huge fan of stories – Father Christmas himself, and of course some extra special guests – that’s you! Bring yourselves, your imaginations and your Teller’s Bells and join us on an amazing adventure. There’ll be jokes and rhymes, laughs and games as you follow these funny folks around Piece Hall, Piece-ing together a brand-new Christmas story.
Audiences will be limited in numbers and family tickets will be available for bookings of 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 people. The experience will adhere to the required COVID-19 safety measures.
Dinner & Christmas Cabaret - 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15,16, 17, 21, 22, 23 December 2020
6.30pm - 10pm, The Trading Rooms
Ticketed: £35 per person
Hosted in The Trading Rooms, a festive Dinner & Christmas Cabaret package will see diners serenaded with a musical line-up including jazz, pop with iconic piano man Elite Elton John tribute, and the Ultimate Adele Tribute, with more shows to be announced. The package includes a two course meal and glass of bubbles on arrival.
Table reservations will be available for bookings of 2, 4 or 6 people. The Trading Rooms will adhere to strict COVID-19 safety guidance.
Caygill Comedy Club - 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30 December 2020

Catering for comedy-seekers, The Piece Hall will also be running a series of Caygill Comedy Club nights throughout December, where three fantastic UK comedians will perform hilarious 90-minute shows socially distanced seated audiences. Creating an authentic comedy club experience, initial shows will feature:

18, 19 December Tez Ilyas, Bethany Black and Dave Twentyman

Tickets for the Father Christmas Comes to The Piece Hall, the Dinner & Christmas Cabaret and the Caygill Comedy Club will be released via The Piece Hall website www.thepiecehall.co.uk with priority booking for Piece Hall members available from 6pm on Monday 12 October and general on sale opening at 6pm on Tuesday 13 October.
