Huge Piece Hall show announced as Leeds legends Kaiser Chiefs head to Halifax for the very first time

We are incredibly excited to announce that legendary Leeds band Kaiser Chiefs will be heading to The Piece Hall in June 2020 to play their first ever gig in Halifax. Fans can expect to hear favourites such as ‘I Predict A Riot’, ‘Ruby’ and ‘Oh My God’ as well as material from the band’s seventh hit album ‘Duck’. Tickets go on sale to Piece Hall members at 9am on Thursday 17 October before going on general sale at 9am Friday 18th October.

Music in the magnificent Salon Perdu

There’s no need to wait until the summer to experience some incredible live music here at The Piece Hall. Whether you’re into pop, rock, folk or jazz, there is a packed programme of live music taking place in our magnificent circus-style Salon Perdu this winter to get your feet tapping and your hips swaying.

The James Taylor Quartet (JTQ) will kick off the Salon Perdu season in serious style as they bring the coolest sounds in funky acid jazz and kitschy-cool melodies to Halifax. With James’ Hammond organ leading the way, their concerts include reworkings of classics such as Green Onions and Time Is Tight, as well as favourites such as JTQ Theme and Starsky and Hutch.

Continuing the cool jazz vibes, Annette Gregory will bring her incredible jazz vocals to the Salon Perdu for a special Christmas concert. Annette will perform hits from the Great American Songbook as well as much loved songs from classic jazz artists including Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Billie Holiday.

Following a huge show at The Piece Hall in June which saw thousands of people flock to watch his band Terrorvision, front man Tony Wright returns to Halifax for an intimate acoustic show in the Salon Perdu, armed with a set list of songs written on his acoustic guitar.

Also set to serenade the Salon Perdu this festive season is singer-songwriter Badly Drawn Boy, folk-rock pioneers Lindisfarne, Hacienda hero Graeme Park and many more. ABBA Revival will have you dancing all night long, and you can sing your heart out to the hits of Freddie & co with Flash: A Tribute to Queen. And there’s plenty happening for little music lovers too; our family Silent Disco and New Year’s Eve Mini-Rave events are perfect for kids and make a fun family afternoon out.

Tickets for the above events are on sale now, head to our What’s On page to browse and book tickets.
