Do you remember Kagan Mill in Elland? Or Fairlea Mill in Luddendenfoot? Halifax is home to a large South Asian community, mainly British Pakistani's originally from the Kashmir region, who migrated in the 50's and 60's when thousands of workers were recruited to work in the mills across Yorkshire. To celebrate Halifax's rich textile heritage and industrial past which brought people from all over the world to settle here and make Halifax the diverse town it is today, we'd like to hear the stories of people who did this journey to work in the factories and mills of Calderdale.

Did you, or someone you know, move from South East Asia to Halifax to work in the textile mills in the 1950's - 1970's? Do you have a story to tell? Do you have photographs or videos you can share? We want to hear from you.
