THE PIECE HALL FULL FESTIVE PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED

Posted On: 25 Sep 2019

The Piece Hall has today announced its spectacular programme of festive events for all the family, as the courtyard transforms into a winter wonderland. You can also find a treasure trove of independent shops offering locally made gifts and enjoy a range of special festive menus at the many cafés, bars and restaurants.

Let the festivities begin!

From the 22 November until 31 December, The Piece Hall courtyard will be home to a twinkling Victorian carousel and cosy Deluxe Bar, set around a towering Christmas tree, where visitors can enjoy warming drinks with friends and family.

A Christmas Fair showcasing some of the region’s favourite independent craft stalls, artisan makers and pop-up food and drink traders takes place from Friday 29 November – Sunday 1 December. The season continues from Friday 6 December with the magnificent circus-style Salon Perdu, showcasing a fantastic programme of family shows, live music, stand-up comedy and cabaret. Musical highlights include Badly Drawn Boy on Wednesday 18 December; much-loved Yorkshire band Hope & Social on Thursday 12 December, and classic carols at The Big Sing on Christmas Eve. The season will come to a close on New Year’s Eve, with the outdoor Courtyard Party featuring live music, DJs and entertainment.

The Heritage & Learning team have curated a wonderful series of workshops to keep both kids and adults busy in the lead up to Christmas. Little ones can celebrate the Halifax Christmas lights switch on by making their very own lantern, while adults can learn to make a poured candle, a textile wreath, glass decorations and more.

From Saturday 30 November – Saturday 21 December, kids can step back in time at our Victorian Winter Wonderland, where they will huddle round the fireplace for a story, play some Victorian games and create a beautiful handcrafted gift to take home. Younger kids will love our Christmas special Little Lambs and Tinsel Tots sessions, complete with sensory storytelling, movement and music.

Members priority booking opens on Thursday 26 September at 10am. General tickets go live on Friday 27 September at 10am.
