The Piece Hall is really proud to support Calderdale Lighthouse. Throughout the year, the 100% volunteer run charity based at Dean Clough distributes essential items to vulnerable and disadvantaged families throughout Calderdale and the surrounding areas. This includes things like clothing and shoes for new-borns to teens, bedding, toiletries, toys and books.
In the run up to Christmas, The Piece Hall’s Visitor Centre acts as a collection point for donated gifts for children who might otherwise go without. Then each December there is a mass present wrapping session before the gifts are matched to vulnerable families.
Wrapping paper and scissor at the ready, volunteers gather in our Speigeltent, which is the heart of our Christmas courtyard experience and provides a truly magical, festive atmosphere.
It’s location close to the South Gate allows easy access for loading in the unwrapped gifts and dispatching the lovingly wrapped and carefully curated Christmas packages.
A warm and welcoming environment is provided with trestle tables to wrap on and an unlimited supply of complimentary hot drinks and sweet treats from The Deli.
Organisers were amazed with speed at the latest Big Wrap. More than 40 people, including a number of The Piece Hall’s very own volunteers wrapped more than 1500 gifts in record time.
