Step back in time and experience the iconic history of The Piece Hall. This impressive building, the UKs only remaining Georgian cloth hall, was in a different league to other cloth halls, attracting manufacturers and merchants from all over Europe. Its weekly market was ideal for serving the needs of small-scale woollen clothiers, and when The Piece Hall opened in 1779, the bell was rung at 10am on a Saturday morning to mark the start of trade for merchants and buyers. You can now relive this tradition of the past.

Upon arrival at The Piece Hall, you will enjoy a delicious ‘Traders’ breakfast made from locally sourced produce at The Trading Rooms restaurant. After breakfast, you will be taken to The Map Room where you will ring the bell to mark the start of the trading day, before being presented with a certificate and a Piece Hall guide book.

What’s included?

A delicious Traders breakfast
A hot beverage served in a Piece Hall souvenir mug which is then yours to keep as a memento
A visit to The Map Room to ring the Piece Hall bell to mark the start of trading for the day
Presentation of a certificate to celebrate your bell ringing along with a Piece Hall guide book
