WED 25 JUL: ICE CREAM MAKING

10.30am, 12noon & 2pm, £3 per child (booking advised)

Visit Blondin's Ice Cream Parlour to learn about the origins of ice cream and how it's made, then head up to the our Learning Studio to have a go at making your own - add sprinkles and your favourite sauce before enjoying your handmade frozen treat.

 

WED 1 AUG: ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

10.30am - 3pm, FREE/£3 drop-in, Courtyard

Join us in the courtyard for fun family activities to celebrate our first year of re-opening. There wil be face painting, Giant Yorkshire Rose artwork, a Georgian photobooth and crafts at the Activity Cart. 

 

WED 8 AUG: BALLOON CREATIONS 

10.30am, 12noon, & 2pm, £3 per child (booking advised), Learning Studio

Learn about Mr and Mrs Graham who made an amzing hot air balloon ascent from The Piece Hall in 1837 and learn the skills to create a special twisted balloon model. 

 

WED 15 AUG: TEXTILE ANIMALS 

10.30am - 3pm, £3, drop-in, Learning Studio

Learn about the famous Halifax Zoo and the importance of cloth in The Piece Hall's history. Then, using different fabrics of varying textures and colours, be inspired to create a textile animal to take home with you.

 

WED 22 AUG: WATERCOLOUR WORKSHOP

10.30am & 12noon, £8 (booking advised), Learning Studio 

Join local artist, Jane Austin, in the Learning Studio for this watercolour workshop. Jane will show you some simple watercolour techniques so you can create your own painting, taking inspiration from the Grade I listed Piece Hall. 

 

WED 29 AUG: THE PIECE HALL ARTY PARTY

10.30am - 3pm, £3 drop-in, Learning Studio

We're going art crazy! Drop-in to the Learning Studio and have a go at printing, make a bookmark or create your own model.
