Following the release of her Grammy-nominated tenth album I Inside the Old Year Dying, PJ Harvey today announces a new headline show in Halifax.
The only artist to win the prestigious Mercury Music Prize twice will headline Live at The Piece Hall 2024 on Tuesday 20 August.
Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 1 December via ticketmaster.co.uk
After releasing her debut album Dry in 1992, Polly Jean Harvey quickly established herself as a vital voice in alternative rock. Famously unafraid to grapple with raw and emotional topics within her lyrics she is both bold and compelling in equal measure.
PJ Harvey’s critical acclaim knows no bounds following a slew of five-star reviews commending the artist’s most recent UK tour, heralding the fascinating and ethereal live experience as otherworldly.
Her tenth studio album I Inside the Old Year Dying landed at Number 5 in the UK album chart – Polly’s fourth Top 10 record – earlier this year, adding to an illustrious back catalogue.
Now heading to The Piece Hall next summer, this special outdoor show at the historic venue will be one of the must-see events in Yorkshire in 2024.
PJ Harvey joins Tom Jones, joins Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Tom Odell, Pixies, Richard Ashcroft, Jess Glynne, McFly, Fatboy Slim, Loyle Carner and rock legends Status Quo among the headliners for Live at The Piece Hall 2024 – with many more to be announced.
The Halifax show is co-promoted by The Piece Hall Trust and Cuffe and Taylor.
Nicky Chance-Thompson MBE DL, CEO of The Piece Hall Trust, said: “I can’t wait to welcome this truly iconic artist to the courtyard, one of my personal favourites. From PJ Harvey’s powerful, extensive back catalogue to her current releases, this inspirational and widely respected performer remains firmly at the top of her game.
“Fans are in for a real treat when this critically acclaimed and multi award winning musician takes to the stage in our stunning venue.”
