  • Inspire children and young people
Through an exciting heritage and learning programme to engage young minds
  • Create a buzzing centre of culture

  • Welcome our community
The Piece Hall brings people from all backgrounds together and remains free to access

Originally built in 1779 by the wool merchants of Halifax as a place to trade ‘pieces’ of cloth, this extraordinary building is the only one of its kind in the UK.

The Piece Hall Trust is an independent charity, dedicated to managing The Piece Hall for public benefit. We're here to make sure it has a sustainable future, as one of Britain's most important heritage destinations, with international significance.

We're responsible for the everyday and long-term care of the stunning Grade I listed building and vast courtyard. It's also our job to raise vital funds, so we can keep offering visitors a fantastic range of cultural, heritage, learning and community activities - many of them free to attend.

With your support, we can continue our work and ensure The Piece Hall stays open for everyone to enjoy. Thank you!
