Due to social distancing requirements, we have put a range of interim measures in place to ensure the safety of visitors, staff and tenants. We will continue to review and adapt these in line with Government guidance. The changes are as follows:

  • We will be limiting the number of people allowed in The Piece Hall at any one time. This will be closely monitored, and once at capacity we will operate a ‘one in, one out’ system.
  • Visitors will be asked to sanitise their hands prior to entry and be asked if they have any COVID-19 symptoms. If they do, they and any other people they arrive with will be refused entry to the site.
  • Once inside The Piece Hall a one-way system will be in place, which will be clearly explained to visitors upon arrival, and with lots of signage situated outside shops, in stairwells and around the courtyard.
  • The signage will also direct visitors to a number of hand sanitiser stations.
  • Each of the shops in The Piece Hall has completed their own COVID-19 risk assessment and implemented measures to ensure visitors are safe while in their premises. Customer safety in their premises remains their responsibility.
  • We have reduced the number of available toilets to ensure social distancing can be followed, all will be subject to regular and thorough cleaning.
  • Security, staff and external cleaning contractors will be present on site, assisting visitors and undertaking regular and thorough cleaning of the site.

These processes and procedures will ensure The Piece Hall is a safe place to eat, shop and do business.
